Visit One of Our Cultural Districts
Hyannis and Barnstable Village both have state designated cultural districts that attract artists, foster local cultural development, encourage business and job creation, preserve historic buildings, and further establish the Town of Barnstable as a cultural visitor destination.
A historic village with modern twist, there is plenty to do in the Barnstable Village Cultural District, a charming seaside village on the north side of Barnstable. A balance between colonial history and 21st century flair, the district is filled with historical buildings, quaint shops, working artist studios and galleries, locally-owned shops, musical and theater groups, and restaurants. A short walk or drive to Barnstable Harbor and Mill Way beach with a scenic view of the Sandy Neck Beach lighthouse and cottages.
The Hyannis HyArts Cultural District in downtown Hyannis is home to local artists with seaside artist shanties, a working waterfront and steps away a mile long Main Street with shops and restaurants. Museums, festivals, concerts, theatrical performances, the Kennedy Legacy Trail and JFK Hyannis Museum, Cape Cod Maritime and Zion Union Heritage museums, McKeon Park, home to the Cape League baseball team, Harbor Hawks, and so much more.
Every day is an art-FULL day with plenty to see and do to keep you active and entertained every day, year-round.
