Passport to America: The Immigrant Story

  • Barnstable Performing Arts Center 744 West Main St. Hyannis, Ma. (map)

Cotuit Center for the Arts is proud to partner with the Cape Symphony on a musical journey to our own country, Ellis Island: The Dream of America, a powerful celebration of the historic immigrant experience by composer Peter Boyer.

This innovative work brings together soaring music, historical images and text from the Ellis Island archives, and the voices of real people who entered the United States in pursuit of the American dream. Among those who came here in the 20th century were many important composers – we present works by some of these talented immigrants, including the brilliant Igor Stravinsky.
