Color Grading and Shaping Light in Photoshop: Learn my Processing Secrets w/ Betty Wiley

  • Cape Cod Art Center 3480 Route 6A Barnstable, Ma. United States (map)

In this class students will use a variety of techniques for color grading and adding/shaping light in Photoshop. Students will learn how to work with color and light in Photoshop using levels, curves, brushes, various adjustment layers, color fills, blend modes, and more. These techniques will allow you to add color casts and/or enhance color to images to make sunsets and sunrises really “pop” as well as apply various color looks that are very popular on social media these days. I will show you how to use different filters and adjustment layers. These techniques are a great way to enhance images and build Photoshop skills in the process. I’m looking forward to sharing my processing secrets with you and how I work with color and light and Photoshop to achieve various effects. You will be amazed at all the techniques and tools you will learn in this class. I will supply images for the class exercises on a thumb drive for students to use.

Please note this is not an “intro to Photoshop” class and that students will need to have some basic Photoshop knowledge as a prerequisite for taking this class. Students will need to know how to navigate the program, open files and understand layers and have familiarity with basic tools however proficiency is not required. In addition students will need to have basic computer skills and have a laptop that’s in good working condition as this is a hands-on class and students are encouraged to bring their own laptops.
