Join artist Gabriella Melchiorri for a delightful week of fairy architecture! Students will use sticks, pinecones, and other natural materials as well as silk flowers, glitter, beads, buttons, and more to create their own whimsical miniature house over the course of this week-long class. Materials will be provided and students will have the opportunity to forage for their own additions! These tiny magical homes are fun to create and they make wonderful additions to any garden. Students are invited to bring a small personal item, such as a doll or figurine, to inhabit their fairy house.
Ages 6–14. All levels of artistic skill welcome!
Gabriella Melchiorri is a rising senior at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University and has taught art at Highfield Hall & Gardens for the past four years. She has exhibited her paintings at Art Fusion Galleries in Miami Florida which is one of the largest international art galleries in the United States at the age of sixteen. Gabriella was also selected to show her animation at the Museum of Fine Arts Media Arts Annual this year. With her extensive background in painting, Gabriella enjoys creating works that reflect her love of nature and of the abstract. Gabriella has interned at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston where she created studio projects that revolved around the Museum’s collection for all ages. She is hopeful to continue working in art museums once she graduates in 2020.
