Director Jay Stewart will be holding auditions for Doctor Dolittle on August 31 & September 7. We are casting principals, and ensemble roles for men and women of all ages, as well as ensemble kids from 8 years old and up.
Auditions will be held:
Saturday, August 31 from 2:00PM-:6:00PM in the Art Studio
Saturday, September 7 from 2:00PM-:6:00PM in the Schoolhouse
Auditioners should be prepared to sing part of a song (not necessarily from Doctor Dolittle), and will be reading sides from the script that will be provided at the audition.
About the show:
The classic tale of kindness to animals trots, crawls and flies onto the stage in Doctor Dolittle, the big Broadway-sized family musical. All of the characters we've come to love through the stories of Hugh Lofting and the magical movie musical are given new life in the stage version.
The musical tells the classic tale of a wacky but kind Doctor who can talk to animals. The show takes the audience on a journey from the small English village of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh to the far corners of the world. Doctor Dolittle is wrongly accused of murder and, once pronounced innocent, continues with his search for the Great Pink Sea Snail – the oldest and wisest of the creatures on earth.
Book, music, and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse. Directed by Jay Stewart, music direction by Chris Morris, choreography by Meg Morris.
